What’s your faith about?

“Your faith has always been more about honoring your heritage than surrendering your heart.”
This quote from a book I’ve been reading really struck me tonight. This isn’t because I grew up in a religious lifestyle but because I wonder how many people think they’re honoring god but they really aren’t? Isn’t there people who go to church on Sunday’s and pray before dinner who really haven’t surrendered their hearts to Jesus? Maybe it’s you, maybe it’s a friend or family member. Whoever, it’s something to think about, and to pray about. Is the way YOU live your life really honorable to God, or is it honoring you? He wants our whole hearts, not just little slivers here and there. It’s not good enough to be a part time, lukewarm Christian.
Why do you follow Jesus? Think seriously about it, and then take it to Him. Jesus doesn’t want a few hours Sunday morning or one bible study during the week, No- Jesus wants your whole heart, 24/7. All of it. Just as though a spouse doesn’t want you to kinda like them, they expect you’ve given you’re whole heart. If they found out you weren’t really all in…they’d be crushed. This is exactly how God feels when we don’t give him all of ourselves.
Jesus loves every one of you reading this post, as well as all those who won’t. My point isn’t to tell you you’re doing it wrong, because I’m in no way close to perfect. I want to challenge my fellow brothers and sisters to dig deeper and love harder. Because you know as well as I do, “you will find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.” This is where our destiny lies.
